Egypt in 5 Days: A Dream Journey Through History, Pyramids, and the Nile
Egypt Travel Guide & Full Itinerary
(4th Nov - 9th Nov 2024)
Dreams came true when we spent 6 magical days in Egypt!
Honestly, you can’t fit the beauty of Egypt into a one-minute vlog — and it wasn’t easy to explore all the top spots in just 5 days either.
Every day started early, walking under the bright sun, exploring incredible sites, and ended late at night.
From the calm moments by the Nile River, standing before the Great Pyramids, to seeing real hieroglyphs from ancient history — these memories still feel fresh even today.
Here’s our full plan — perfect if you want to explore Egypt in 5 days!
(But if you want a relaxed trip covering everything, 8-9 days are better to include the Nile Cruise and Alexandria — we had to skip those due to time and budget.)
We also kept track of all costs! If anyone needs the expense details, just DM me!

Important Travel Tips:
1. Travel Duration:
If you can, plan for 8-9 days to fully enjoy Egypt, including a Nile River Cruise and a visit to Alexandria.
2. Visa Info:
We traveled with a pre-approved e-visa — it saves time and avoids hassle.
Apply via the official Egypt government site (takes around 5–7 days).
Since ours was a last-minute trip, we got our visa done through Kundu Travels, Kolkata — highly recommend!
Always carry a copy of your visa during your trip.
3. Camel Ride Tip:
Camel rides are fun for photos but not great for long distances.
Instead, hire a horse carriage with a guide if you want to explore the entire Pyramid Complex. Trust me, your back will thank you!
4. Avoid Fridays at Giza:
Fridays are a weekly holiday in Egypt.
The Giza Pyramids get super crowded and chaotic. Best to plan for another day.
5. Beware of Scammers:
Some people may offer to "help" you (photos, rides, etc.).
Just smile and say "No, Shukran" (meaning "No, Thank you") politely.
Always use your trusted agent for help if needed.
6. Markets:
In busy markets like Khan El Khalili, you might hear odd comments.
Ignore and move on — staying polite is best!
7. What to Wear:
I wore knee-length dresses, skirts, long dresses, tops, trousers, even sleeveless outfits — no problem at all.
Just wear modest clothes if visiting mosques (cover your arms and legs).
8. Food to Try:
Egypt has KFC and McDonald's, but don’t miss the local foods:
Falafel, Shawarma, and especially Koshari (national dish) — absolutely delicious!
9. Travel Style:
We didn’t use a full travel company — we traveled via a local agent.
While applying for the visa, you need to give agent details.
Having a trusted local contact is really helpful.
10. Souvenirs:
Shop for African jewelry, Tutankhamun/Cleopatra/Ramses statues, pyramids, and fridge magnets.
Buy in bulk to get discounts!
We loved shopping at Khan El Khalili market.
11. Carry Important Docs Carefully:
Always keep your passport, visa, and important papers in a small bag with you.
12. Hotel Info:
Hotel stays are usually included in the agent’s package.
If you want a Pyramid View Room, mention it while booking.
13. Airbnb Option:
We preferred Airbnb stays over hotels.
Our agent customized it for us (we paid separately).
14. Language Tip:
Google Translate app was super helpful to talk to locals!
15. Need Help?
I have full agent details and cost breakdowns ready — just post a comment, if you want!
