Gardening, A New Found Hobby
Somebody aptly said that there is nothing wrong in having trees as friends. This could remain as a trifling statement to me until this lockdown. Socializing is completely stopped now and found this can be the perfect time to learn new things, to start a self-evolving activity like Gardening. As they already said, "Better Late Than Never".
It was an sudden opportunity for me to be the Plantmom of a Lucky Bamboo that I received as a gift, 2-3 months before the lockdown started. I named her "Hope". Its an immence pleasure to see him grow everyday infront of my eyes, the green texture sooths the eyes, the emerging twigs bring happiness, irrespective of all the negativities. "Hope" implanted the idea of Indoor plantation within me, also inspired me to plant some more greens & gift the "Green Happiness" to the near and dear ones.
To my surprize, Few months ago, during the Lockdown, I have received a big trunk of Pothos(Money Plant) at my doorstep. It was a joyous moment as I got a chance to have a hands-on experiment with the knowledge that I gathered about the Indoor Plants. The next task was to propagate them in the water and to distribute them to all over the house, utilizing the full trunk. Withing few days, roots were spotted in most of the stems, eventually leaves were appeared in few weeks. They were shifted from water to soil in the next step and are doing well by the God's grace. I have got a ZZ plant too from my neighbourhood which is now well propagated in the soil and having a positive growth.
I generally stick to those ventures, having tough goals and needs extraordinary patience level to accomplish. Yes! Gardening needs both. The tiny little twigs tought me to work on my patience level, which is really needed at the moment. Apart from this, A small tinch of green, sooths the eyes & the mind, every morning, which helps to calm down. From caring them to understand their need, learn about them to help them grow, tought me to became a confident person with full of responsibilities.
I have plan to start kitchen plantation too after the lockdown gets over. Keeping my fingers crossed. Let's save the by planting some more greens!
